Sophia Ruiz is a Chicana and Italian-American NYC-based actor and singer born and raised in Las Vegas.
Sophia received her B.A in Theatre: Acting from the University of Northern Colorado, where she played Diana Morales in A Chorus Line, Nina in In the Heights, #00 in The Wolves, and Little Stone in Eurydice. Her first job in NYC was as a Soccer Player in Zach Braff's film A Good Person. Her first off-Broadway experience was as #14 and Soccer Mom in Ghost Light Theatre Companies production of The Wolves. She has also performed in Tequila Talking Productions staged reading of An Unhero's Journey by Brett Macias. While in Colorado, she performed as Dragon and Humpty Dumpty in Candlelight Dinner Playhouse's Shrek: The Musical. She has also been featured in various cabarets at The Green Room 42 and The Triad Theatre.
She is passionate about melding activism with art, and collaborating with like-minded, innovative, and empathetic artists. When she is not acting, Sophia works as a House Manager.
